Title: Big Data Analytics & Digital Transformation

Abstract:

The digital transformation enables new business models and enhanced business processes by utilizing big data for analytics and prediction. This talk gives an overview of the recent development on big data and developments for the digital transformation, the areas of application, and concrete use case examples. Finally, the talk demonstrate how to use big data as a service on a public cloud platform in research and business cases.

Biography:

Dr. Thanachart Numnonda is an executive director of IMC Institute. Currently, he also holds many other position in both public and private sectors. These includes Independent director and president of audit committee at Thanachart bank public company limited, Chairman and president Audit Committee at SiamEast solutions public company limited, Independent director and a member of Audit Committee at Vintcom Technology public company limited, Independent director and a member of Audit Committee at Humanica public company limited, and a member of council at Ubon Ratchathani university,

Dr. Thanachart is a former director of Software Park Thailand between October 2010 - December 2012. Prior to joining Software Park Thailand, he was business development director of Sun Microsystems (Thailand) Ltd. since 2005, responsible for the software business. He has played a crucial part in the development of Sun’s product lines and business expansion in Thailand. He is also experienced in the IT development of Thailand’s education sector. He was vice president for planning and information technology at Khon Kaen University, and acting project director of E-Saan Software Park.

He was an associate professor at the Department of Computer Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Khon Kaen University, and a visiting lecturer to several universities.

Dr. Thanachart graduated in Electrical Engineering from Khon Kaen University. He also holds a master’s degree and a PhD in Electrical Engineering and Electronics from University of Auckland, New Zealand.
